Visitation panel arrives NOUN, to probe finances, staff strength, others

By Emmanuel Afonne Abuja, April 27, 2021 The Presidential Visitation Panel, on Tuesday, arrived at National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), with the mandate to probe the financial management of the institution. Chairman of the panel, Alhaji Isa Sali, while addressing the Governing Council, NOUN management and the media, said that his team would also investigate application of funds, particularly the special grants and loans meant for particular projects. Sali, who rolled out a 10-point terms of reference of his panel, noted that their assignment would last 60 days, even as he urged staff members, students and stakeholders to submit their petitions within the period.

Share The Nigeria national workshop on ‘ICT Competency Framework for Teacher (ICT CFT) Harnessing OER’ identified priority areas for the development of OER-based teacher training materials using ICT in the classroom, responding to Covid-19 challenges to access to education. The debates at this online meeting underscored the potential of the contextualization of the ICT Competency Framework to respond to the urgent need to ensure that teachers had the necessary skills to use technology in the classroom. The value of OER-based materials which can be used, re-used and adapted to meet both the needs of target learners and the educational objectives of the courses or subjects for which they are being provided was underscored.
