The Grand Canyon Protection Act was recently introduced by U.S. Rep. Raύl Grijalva and passed in the House and has been introduced in the Senate by Sen. Kyrsten Sinema. The bills will permanently protect about 1 million acres of public lands surrounding Grand Canyon from the harmful and lasting damage of new uranium mining.

Fewer than one in five new architects identify as racial or
ethnic minorities, and just about two in five are women, according to the

the legacy of architects who overcame unimaginable obstacles. In sharing their
stories, we aim to pay overdue tribute to their talents, honor their courage,
and learn from their experiences.

Taube and Postel set out to find a new home for the carriages near Courthouse Square. The original idea was pretty straightforward a simple structure on the order of a single-story, garage-type building but rapidly evolved into something far more exciting. We concluded that the only way to do justice to these carriages was to create a showplace. Of course, a showplace involves money, Taube said. To date, The Taube Carriage House Campaign has raised over 78% of the $11.5 million price tag, all of which has come from private pledges and donations. Construction of the Carriage House is expected to take approximately two years, with preliminary site improvements set to begin this spring.
