So how did mortadella, the pride of Northern Italy, wind up being processed, pasteurized and whatever the opposite of perfected is, over the course of hundreds of years? How did it get smacked alongside a Kraft single in a nutritionally dubious midday meal for millions of U.S. students everyday? This is the story of bologna – the lunchmeat.

The daily rundown Between Monday and Tuesday, the number of Florida coronavirus cases increased by 14,896 (1 percent), to 1,503,482; active hospitalizations went up by 71 (0.9 percent), to 7,720; deaths rose by 156 (nearly 0.7 percent), to 23,227.
Pandemic Unemployment Assistance Update
The Department of Unemployment Assistance will begin issuing the additional 11 weeks of Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) provided by the Continued Assistance for Unemployed Workers Act of 2020. Payments of PUA and the additional $300 Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation (FPUC) will be issued beginning Monday, January 11, 2021. Payments will be retroactive to week ending January 2, 2021 for eligible claimants.
