Former India skipper and current National Cricket Academy (NCA) head Rahul Dravid will coach the Indian limited-overs team that will play a six-game series against Sri Lanka in July. This will be his second stint with the Indian team after working with the boys as batting consultant during the England tour in 2014. Speaking to ANI, a BCCI official in the know of developments confirmed that the NCA head would be leading the team as the trio of Ravi Shastri, Bharat Arun and Vikram Rathour will be in England with the Test team.
Former captain Rahul Dravid will coach the Indian limited-overs team on their tour of Sri Lanka in July as current head coach Ravi Shastri will be busy with Virat Kohli’s Test side in England during that time.
Team India will be heading to Sri Lanka to play a series of 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is from July 13 to 27. The squad will need a support staff on the tour as the current crop of coaches, led by Shastri, will be in England with the Test team where Kohli’s team will be taking on Joe Root’s side in a series of 5 Tests from August 4.
The first-ever WTC final is just less than a month away now, as India will take on New Zealand at Southampton, to be crowned the undisputed champions of Tests. This, in some ways, is the repeat of the 2019 World Cup semifinal clash between these two sides which the Kiwis won. Also, what needs to be kept in mind is New Zealand hammered India in a Test series at home, 0-2 last year.
Simply put, keeping the conditions in mind also, New Zealand will have an edge over the Indians. Even former England skipper Micheal Vaughan feels that New Zealand will pip India in the upcoming encounter.

NEW DELHI: National Cricket Academy chief and former India captain Rahul Dravid is set to be the head coach of the Indian white-ball squad that will tour Sri Lanka in July.
Dravid, who stopped travelling with the India A and U-19 teams after taking over as NCA head in Bengaluru, will be the head coach of the second-string side in the absence of Ravi Shastri, who will be busy with the Test side in England at the same time. He will travel with the team to Sri Lanka in all likelihood, a BCCI source told PTI.
