Rain will change over to snow more quickly this evening, which makes travel especially hazardous. Heavy wet snow makes shoveling extra tough. If you know someone who can help move snow, it might be a good idea to make arrangements for that now. Gusty winds will likely cause blowing and drifting snow too. Since we have gotten closer to the weekend and the storm approaching, more details about the storm are becoming more apparent. Winter Storm Watch will go into effect for most of the Quad Cities area Saturday afternoon through Sunday morning. National Weather Service of the Quad Cities Most of this snow is going to impact most of the northern part Quad Cities area, especially along I-80. I assume as we move into Saturday, this Winter Storm Watch will probably get bumped up to a Winter Storm Warning, especially due to snowfall total predictions, strong winds and drifting snow. That hasn t happened yet, but don t be surprised.

This weekend will bring some more snow to the Quad Cities and it will be on and off through Monday evening. We will see most of the snow fall Saturday night and Sunday night through Monday evening. Fortunately, we will have a little break in the snow most of the day on Sunday. The National Weather Service of the Quad Cities says that light snow will fall Saturday evening across areas north of I-80. The bulk of the snow will fall late Saturday night into early Sunday. The highest snow totals are forecasted to fall along highway 20.
