Trinity Exploration & Production, the independent E&P company focused on Trinidad and Tobago, has provided an update on its operations for the three-month period ended 31 December 2020.
Q4 2020 Summary
Production levels remained strong during Q4 2020 with volumes averaging 3,206 bopd, yielding a full year 2020 average of 3,226 bopd (2019: 3,007 bopd) in line with market guidance. This represents a 7% increase over the prior year despite the challenges presented by COVID-19 and no new drilling activity taking place during the year. This is the third consecutive year of delivering production growth and meeting our stipulated production targets. Furthermore, the Group s unaudited FY 2020 operating break-even was US$20.5/bbl, meeting the challenging target set in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and being the fifth consecutive year of maintaining a sub-US$30/bbl operating break-even.
Mitsubishi Corporation: Commercial Operations Commence at Methanol / Dimethyl Ether Plant in Trinidad and Tobago
TOKYO, Jan 19, 2021 - (JCN Newswire) - Mitsubishi Gas Chemical Company (MGC), Mitsubishi Corporation (MC) and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Engineering (MHIENG) have teamed up with the National Gas Company of Trinidad and Tobago (NGC) and Massy Holdings (Massy), a joint venture in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, Caribbean Gas Chemical Limited (CGCL), to launch commercial operations of a methanol and dimethyl ether (DME) plant.
CGCL s Plant
CGCL was established in March 2013, and it completed construction. Fueled primarily by natural gas sourced from Trinidad and Tobago, the plant has an annual production capacity of one million tons of methanol and 20,000 tons of DME. It began operating commercially in December 18, 2020.

Mitsubishi Launches Trinidad Methanol Plant
Japanese industrial conglomerate Mitsubishi has launched commercial operations at its methanol and dimethyl ether (DME) plant in Trinidad and Tobago, the company said on January 19.
The plant uses natural gas to produce up to 1mn metric tons of methanol and 20,000 mt of DME annually. It was brought on stream on December 18.
The facility is operated by Caribbean Gas Chemical, a joint venture between Mitsubishi Gas Chemical, Mitsubishi Corp, and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Engineering, the National Gas Company of Trinidad and Tobago and local industrial group Massy Holdings.
