Abia State Governor, Dr Okezie lkpeazu, on Thursday said the 30 years Abia State Long Term Development Plan (ABSLTDP) 2020 – 2050, will offer a blueprint to sustainable economic growth and development in governance for succeeding administrations for many years to come.
lkpeazu made this known during the launch and public presentation of Abia State Long Term Development Plan in Umuahia.
Ikpeazu who was represented by his Deputy, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu, explained that if the development plan is seriously followed and sustained by subsequent administrations, the State will be a centre of attraction and a reference point for other States yet to key into such programme.

The Minister of Sports, Sunday Dare, yesterday, declared the 20th National Sports Festival, Edo 2020, open with a message to Nigerian youths to be good ambassadors of the country. He advised them to embrace peace and use their skill to enhance the quality of life. x
Dare, who represented President Muhammadu Buhari, was said to have visited the Oba of Benin, HRM Ewuare II, in his palace before he proceeded to the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium for the ceremony, which witnessed heavy down pour.

A heavily pregnant Nigerian athlete has won a gold medal in Taekwondo at the ongoing National Sports Festival. Aminat Idrees, aged 26, who is eight months pregnant, won in the Mixed Poomsae category in Taekwondo.
An inspiring video of Idrees demonstrating different combat techniques has gone viral on social media. She also picked up other medals in a non-combat simulated category of Taekwondo known as Poomsae.

Nigerian athlete Aminat Idrees won the gold medal in Taekwondo at the National Sports Festival this week and she did so while eight months pregnant, according to CNN.
The 26-year-old managed to win the Mixed Poomsae category of the Taekwondo section of the event, which is held every two years.
Organizers of the National Sports Festival called Idrees inspiring in interviews with CNN. It s such a privilege for me. I just decided to give it a try after training a couple of times. It feels really good. Before I got pregnant, I have always enjoyed training, so it didn t seem different with pregnancy, Idrees told CNN.
