Demolition of former Radioisotope Development Lab underway at Oak Ridge
OAK RIDGE, Tenn. – DOE’s Oak Ridge Office of Environmental Management (OREM) and contractor UCOR have begun removing the two remaining structures at the former Radioisotope Development Lab at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL).
“This project launches our next phase of major demolition and cleanup at ORNL,” said Nathan Felosi, OREM’s portfolio federal project director for ORNL. “Our work is eliminating contaminated structures, like this one, that are on DOE’s list of high-risk facilities and clearing space for future research missions.”

WASHINGTON, Jan. 28, 2021 /PRNewswire/ The Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) has provided financing from local and federal resources to produce and preserve more than 260 affordable housing units in Wards 4 and 8. The demand for more affordable housing continues to be a priority, especially for seniors, said DHCD Director Polly Donaldson. Whether we produce new units or preserve older affordable units, our goal is to leverage all of our available resources so that residents can remain in the District.
State Commerce Pumps $97Million Into Housing Projects
Tuesday, the Washington State Department of Commerce made this announcement, that $97million in grants and loans for what they called affordable housing across the state. The information release read in part: These funds will help provide an estimated 1,404 multifamily rental units/beds, 121 homes for first-time homebuyers, 86 units of modular housing, and 74 units in cottage-style communities. $85.3 million of funding comes from the state’s Housing Trust Fund, with $11.7 million provided through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) HOME and National Housing Trust Fund programs, also managed by Commerce in Washington state.

DEVILS LAKE -ND – The North Dakota Industrial Commission (Commission) announced today that six projects have received funding commitments from the North Dakota Housing Finance Agency (NDHFA) to support the construction or rehabilitation of more than 200 affordable housing units.
During its most recent funding round, NDHFA allocated $3.25 million in federal tax credit authority through the Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program. When syndicated, the credits will generate approximately $29 million in project equity. NDHFA also awarded $2.76 million through the National Housing Trust Fund (HTF).
“The development programs North Dakota Housing Finance Agency administers help to ensure vulnerable households have housing that is safe and affordable,” said Commission members in a joint statement. Consisting of Gov. Doug Burgum as chairman, Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring and Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem, the Commission oversees NDHFA.
