Pastors and Christian leaders are calling for prayer and peace as the Middle East continues to see the worst violence in years between Israelis and Palestinians, prompting the United Nations to warn the conflict could mushroom into "full-scale war."
ABOVE: Rev. Johnnie Moore, president of the Congress of Christian Leaders, appeared on Friday s edition of CBN s Newswatch to discuss his op-ed and what appears to socialism mixed with anti-Israel attitudes found in today s culture. Newswatch is seen weekdays on the CBN News Channel.
As the violence between Israel and Hamas rages, two influential religious leaders, a rabbi, and an evangelical leader are warning progressive Americans to watch out for anti-Semitism.
In a Newsweek op-ed, co-authors Rabbi Abraham Cooper and Johnnie Moore send a word of caution. We ignore, at our own risk, the high-profile anti-Semitism emanating from the self-anointed gatekeepers of the progressive Left, increasingly on display during these bloody days in the Holy Land, the pair wrote. The seeds of still more anti-Semitism here in the U.S. have been planted, including by some very influential progressives.

What began as riots in Jerusalem on May 10 led to an aerial war over Gaza and widespread civil unrest in less than two days, causing death, injuries, arrests and property damage.

I wouldn t be here if not for the prayers of my grandmother. She prayed nightly for each of her many grandchildren by name. I wouldn t be here if not for the prayers of my mother that sustain me to this very hour. There are moments that I m fighting darkness and the pressures of this world, and I know my mama is praying for me. She sends me text messages all the time telling me she’s praying for me, reminding me of the promises of God.
Many wonderful mothers and fathers spend sleepless nights worrying that their mistakes will have long-term effects on their children. But does your broken marriage guarantee that your child will one day divorce or be divorced by their spouse? No. Are your present financial struggles an indicator of your child’s future poverty? Of course not.

When I look into my granddaughterâs eyes, I see the future. I see a little girl who will one day grow up and go out into the world to make a difference.
And I wonder: What will her world be like?
I truly believe the holiness of this present generation will determine the health of the next generation. As a father and grandfather, it is my responsibility to teach my children and grandchild âto do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your Godâ (Micah 6:8).
This starts with prayer. How we teach our children and grandchildren to pray â not just telling them to pray but showing them how to pray â will have a mighty influence on the world they will inherit.
