Don t Forget Indigenous Women When You re Marching For Justice

Don’t Forget Indigenous Women When You’re Marching For Justice 1 in 3 First Nations women and gender diverse people will be raped. 1 in 17 of us will be murdered. Don t ignore us. We missed you too. Sign up to our newsletter, and follow us on Instagram and Twitter, so you always know where to find us. I’m only speaking for myself when I say this, but as a First Nations person and a woman, this has been an especially heavy time. We’ve seen three First Nations deaths in custody in the same week, two of which, only revealed under questioning. One woman and two men. In addition to this, we’ve been hearing about our Australian Government’s lack of care when it comes to the safety and well-being of women, even in their own workplace. When you’ve got white cis straight men on one side telling us that non-male identifying people are nothing, acting like First Nations lives mean nothing, what are we supposed to do? How are we supposed to feel?

This is how you can book your coronavirus vaccine in Australia

Share on Twitter The federal government has launched a website that will allow Australians who are eligible under phase 1b of the coronavirus vaccine rollout to book a jab.  From Monday, more than 1,000 general practices across the country will begin offering vaccinations to high-priority groups, including people aged over 70, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged over 55, adults with underlying medical conditions and critical and high-risk workers, along with health workers not covered in phase 1a.  Those Australians can now use the Department of Health s eligibility tool to book a vaccine appointment at their nearest GP.  Federal Minister for Health Greg Hunt delivers an update on the COVID-19 vaccination program.

Australian Medical Association More than 4,500 accredited general practices will participate in Phase 1b of Australia’s COVID-19 rollout, one of the greatest logistical challenges in our nation’s history. The plans were announced by Minister for Health and Aged Care, Greg Hunt, with the collaboration of the Australian Medical Association (AMA), The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP), and the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM). Minister Hunt said the Government is committed to bringing on board all eligible practices as quickly as possible, with vaccination start dates set to be staggered and dosage allocation to be dependent on vaccine availability.
