National Geographic also ordered four
unscripted projects from Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi and Jimmy Chin responsible
for the
Free Solo film, including two documentary films, a 10-episode series,
and a one-hour pilot.
One of these documentary films will be
about 2018 s dramatic rescue of a Thai soccer team who got stuck inside a
flooded cave in northern Thailand with a working title of
Thai Cave Rescue. The
film will have exclusive access and never-before-seen footage from the rescue
and tells the story of the cave divers who challenged the limits of human
potential and became the unlikely heroes of an edge-of-your-seat mission with

Superman & Lois Tyler Hoechlin (Clark Kent), Bitsie Tulloch (Lois Lane), Jordan Elsass (Jonathan Kent), Alexander Garfin (Jordan Kent), Emmanuelle Chriqui (Lana Lang), Erik Valdez (Kyle Cushing), Inde Navarrette (Sarah Cushing), Adam Rayner (Morgan Edge), Wolé Parks (The Stranger) and Sofia Hasmik (Chrissy Beppo), as well as showrunner Todd Helbing assembled virtually on Monday for a Television Critics Association panel, where they discussed everything from the show’s grounded tone to its jaw-dropping reveals, many of which remain under lock and key.

Free Solo filmmakers E. Chai Vasarhelyi and Jimmy Chin have partnered again with National Geographic on four new unscripted projects, the network revealed today (Feb. 9) as part of its Television Critics Association winter press tour.
Nat Geo also announced a partnership with acclaimed filmmaker Dawn Porter (
The Way I See It,
John Lewis: Good Trouble) and Trailblazer Studios for a feature documentary on the Tulsa Massacre.
Vasarhelyi (pictured left) and Chin (right) will serve as directors for their slate of projects, comprising two feature films, a 10-part series and a one-hour pilot, all produced by their Little Monster Films banner.
