DHAKA, Dec 16, 2020 (BSS) – Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today released separate commemorative postage stamps marking the Digital Bangladesh Day, the Martyred Intellectuals Day and the Victory Day.
She released the commemorative postage materials, issued by Bangladesh Post Office, at her official Ganabhaban residence here this afternoon.
The postal stamps will be put on sale at philatelic bureau of Dhaka GPO from today while these would be available in other GPO/post offices later.
Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar was present on the occasion.

Govt inks deal with Nagad to distribute stipend to primary students

DHAKA, Dec 13, 2020 (BSS) – The government is set to distribute stipends and allowances for accessories among 1.50 crore primary school students through the Postal Department’s digital financial service Nagad.
To this end, the Department of Primary Education (DPE) today signed a tripartite agreement with Bangladesh Postal Department and Third Wave Technology Limited to eliminate the hassles that the students and their guardians have been facing in receiving the funds in the last few years, said a press release.
Director General of the Directorate of Primary Education Alamgir Muhammad Mansurul Alam, Director General (additional charge) of the Bangladesh Postal Department Md Siraz Uddin and Executive Director of Nagad Md Shafayet Alam inked the agreement on behalf of their respective sides at a ceremony at the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education at the secretariat in the city.
