Over 1.90 cr COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in India ANI | Updated: Mar 06, 2021 14:23 IST
New Delhi [India], March 5 (ANI): Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare informed that the cumulative number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the country has crossed 1.90 crores on Friday.
The countrywide vaccination drive was rolled out on January 16, 2021, and the vaccination of the frontline workers (FLWs) started on February 2, 2021. The next phase of COVID-19 vaccination has commenced from March 1, 2021, for those who are over 60 years of age and for people aged 45 and above with specified co-morbid conditions. A total of 1,90,40,175 vaccine doses have been given, as per the provisional report till 7 pm today, read the press release by the Ministry.
More than 20 crore people are eligible for phase 2 of Covid-19 vaccinations in India. This includes more than 7 crore people in the 45-59 age group with morbidity conditions and 13.7 crore in 60+ age group.
NCPCR summons DCGI over lack of standard testing for carcinogens in J&J s baby products

J&J s baby products came under the scanner in March 2019 when drug inspectors in Rajasthan claimed that they had found formaldehyde in two batches of its No More Tears baby shampoo
The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights on Thursday issued summons to the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) and the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) over the lack of uniformity and standardisation in testing methods for detecting the presence of formaldehyde and asbestos in Johnson & Johnson s baby shampoo and talcum powder. Both formaldehyde and asbestos have been identified as a carcinogen, a substance that promotes the formation of cancer in the body.
Over 1.22 lakh beneficiaries were administered the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine in a single-day in Rajasthan on Wednesday. Heath Secretary Siddharth Mahajan said that 1,22,030 frontline workers and 337 health workers got the jabs on Wednesday.
