NEW DELHI: The Delhi government has directed four private hospitals for creating separate institutional isolation units for people who test positive for the new version of virus and have came back from the United Kingdom to Delhi in the last one month.
Bracing itself for the patients carrying new mutant version of the virus with them in the city, the Delhi government has passed an order saying the ongoing treatment protocols - like home isolation - will not be applied in this case and patients will be put in a separate isolated facility. In order to create institutional isolation facility in the private sector for international passengers who have travelled from or transited through United Kingdom in the past four weeks (25th November to 24th December, 2020) and tested positive, the authorities of the following private hospitals are directed to establish separate (isolation) units, the government order said.

New Delhi [India], January 1 (ANI): The flight operations between India and the United Kingdom, which have been banned due to the emergence of new strain of coronavirus, will be resumed from January 8 till 23, said Union Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri on Friday. It has been decided that flights between India and the UK will resume from January 8, 2021. Operations till January 23 will be restricted to 15 flights per week each for carriers of two countries to and from Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad only, the Minister said in a tweet.
On the Centre s directive, Punjab and Haryana will conduct a dry run for COVID-19 vaccination on Saturday. The Centre had said a dry run will be conducted by all state and union territories on January 2 to test the linkages between planning and implementation, and to identify the challenges. The Punjab government will conduct the drive in Patiala on January 2 and 3, state Health Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu said in a statement here. He said as per the Centre s guidelines, Punjab has selected Patiala district where the dry run will be conducted at Government Medical College; Sadhbhavna Hospital; and the Community Health Centre in Shatrana.
