Central University Registrar refuses to vacate office Updated: Updated: Share Article The office of the Registrar of Central University of Karnataka remained locked on Thursday.   Despite an order by the Vice-Chancellor (Acting) of Central University of Karnataka, the incumbent Registrar of the university has refused to hand over charge to the new Registrar. Late on Wednesday, Vice-Chancellor (Acting) M.V. Alagawadi issued the order replacing Registrar Mushtaq Ahmed I. Patel with Basavaraj P. Donur, a professor of English in the university, on the grounds that the deputation of the former from Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU), Hyderabad, has ended and his request for an extension has not been approved by the competent authority.

Jammu school education directorate to set up digital studio for teachers to deliver online lectures

717 Jammu, January 14 The Directorate of School Education (DSE) will set up a digital studio in Jammu division for teachers to deliver online lectures, a senior official said on Thursday. The Union Ministry of Education has sanctioned establishment of the digital studio under the Samagra Shiksha scheme, Director of School Education in Jammu Anuradha Gupta said. While the directorate will set up the studio very soon, various measures to improve quality of education through digital interventions need to be put in place for making learning more efficient and effective, she said. Delivering best online lectures through a control room at the studio shall soon be made possible. Besides, keeping in view the National Education Policy 2020 for art-integrated learning and holistic development of school children, they need to be exposed to art, culture, sports and other activities which are now perceived to be part of curriculum, she said.

The main features of the guidelines are: A. Continued Education for out of schoolchildren (OoSC) and Children with Special Needs (CWSN) - Continuation of non-residential training for identified out of schoolchildren through volunteers, local teachers and community participation. - Continuation of home based education for CWSN children through volunteers/special educators. B. Identifying out of schoolchildren - States and UTs to carry out proper identification of out of schoolchildren for 6 to 18 years age group through a comprehensive door-to-door survey and prepare action plan for their enrolment. C. Enrolment drives and awareness generation - Enrolment drives may be undertaken at the beginning of academic year such as Praveshotsav, School Chalo Abhiyan etc.
