MHA sends WB government reminder regarding central deputation of 3 IPS officers ANI | Updated: Dec 17, 2020 16:38 IST New Delhi [India], December 17 (ANI): The Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Thursday sent another communication to West Bengal government to relieve three IPS officers at the earliest for central deputation. Earlier on December 12, in a move conveying its concern over the attack on BJP president JP Nadda s convoy on December 10, the MHA had summoned three IPS officers, at the level of ADG, DIG and SP, from West Bengal to serve in the central deputation. Government sources had said that the three officers were called for central deputation for the alleged lapse in providing security to Nadda, during his two-day visit to West Bengal.

As per reports, officer Bholanath Pandey has been transferred to the Bureau of Police Research and Development, Rajeev Mishra to Indo-Tibetan Border Police and Praveen Tripathi has been sent to Sashastra Seema Bal. The MHA has asked the Government of West Bengal to relieve the officers for their respective new postings.

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court Thursday sought a response from the Centre and eight states including Karnataka and Assam on a plea of Twitter Communications India Pvt Ltd seeking quashing of multiple FIRs lodged against it for allegedly promoting a tweet on Khalistan . A bench headed by Chief Justice S A Bobde took note of the submissions of senior advocate Sajjan Poovayya, appearing for Twitter India, that there cannot be multiple FIRs for one incident and sought their quashing. The firm has sought clubbing of the FIRs for conducting the trial in one lower court as done in the case of journalist Arnab Goswami.
