NEW DELHI, May 2: In response to the election results of the Assam State Assembly, Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh, who was also the BJP Election In-Charge for Assam, said today that “Assam has rewarded us for sincere and consistent hard work over the last seven years.”
In an exclusive interview to a national TV Channel, Dr Jitendra Singh, while thanking the people of Assam for their overwhelming support, said that a significant feature of this spectacular decisive mandate in this election is that our margin of victory has remained the same or possibly improved in spite of the BJP being the ruling party for five years. He said, this vindicates what he had been saying throughout the election campaign that the Assam poll this time will set a new narrative of a State election being won on the strength of pro-incumbency without an iota of anti-incumbency factor.
