Ropeways, innovative mobility solutions brought Under Highways Ministry ambit: Gadkari NEW DELHI : Ropeways, cable cars and innovative mobility solutions like funicular railways have been brought under the ambit of Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said on Thursday. The move will give a big fillip to infrastructure building in remote, inaccessible areas and hilly terrains of the country, the Road Transport, Highways and MSMEs Minister Gakdari said. “Ropeway, cable car, funicular railway, public transport on electricity etc have come under the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. 300-km-long Paradip-Barbil road to be turned into eight-lane highway: Dharmendra Pradhan ANI | Updated: Feb 02, 2021 23:31 IST New Delhi [India], February 2 (ANI): The 300-km-long Paradip-Barbil road will be converted into an eight-lane highway, said Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Tuesday after a meeting with the Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik through video conferencing to review the National Highway projects of Odisha at his residence here. Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Pradhan said that a decision with regard to the Paradip-Barbil economic corridor was taken in the meeting. He said, The 300-km long Paradip-Barbil road will be converted into an eight-lane highway.

Naveen proposes economic corridor New Delhi: In order to provide a fillip to the economic development of the state, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik Tuesday proposed a 300 km eight-lane integrated economic corridor from Paradip to Barbil in a meeting with Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari. He also assured that the state government will extend all support to the project. The Chief Minister took up several important infrastructure projects with Union Minister Nitin Gadkari in a review meeting via virtual mode. The meeting was also attended by Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan along with Union Minister of State for Road, Transport and Highways General (Retd) VK Singh and Minister of State for MSME Pratap Chandra Sarangi.
