New Delhi [India], May 11 (ANI): The Congress Working Committee has expressed its deep concern over BJP-led government s vaccination strategy, saying that vaccine supplies are grossly insufficient and the pricing policy is opaque and discriminatory .
Congress leaders KC Venugopal and Randeep Singh Surjewala briefed reporters about the CWC meeting held on Monday. The CWC adopted two resolutions. The Congress Working Committee is deeply concerned about the Modi government s vaccination strategy. Vaccine supplies are grossly insufficient, yet the government denies the hard facts. The pricing policy is opaque and discriminatory. And contrary to economic and all other logic, the government has passed on the financial responsibility for vaccinating the 18-44 year population to the State governments

New Delhi: Not a single new case of COVID-19 was reported in 180 districts in the country in the past seven days and no fresh infections were recorded in 18 districts in the last two weeks, said Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan on Saturday. For the last 7 days, 180 districts in the country have not seen a single new case of COVID-19. 18 districts have not recorded any cases in the last 14 days. 54 districts have not witnessed any new case in the last 21 days, said the Union Health Minister here today.
CM writes to Union Health Minister for sufficient supply of vaccine
Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Sunday lashed out at the Centre for exporting 6.5 crore doses of vaccines to 93 nations.
He alleged that they did so to build their image globally instead of making the vaccine available to its own citizens. He said the vaccines could have instead been used to inoculate youth, many of whom have died during the current wave.
“Since the start of this second wave, we have lost a cumulative of 1 lakh people in India as a result of COVID-19. What was hoped from the Central Government was to manage the COVID crisis in India, but they were too busy in managing their image instead. It is important to help nations in this crisis, and it is required, but not at the expense of our own people,” Mr. Sisodia said.
