On the occasion of World Cancer day on February 4, the Assam Cancer Care Foundation (ACCF) has announced a free of cost, one-month long awareness and cancer detection initiative across the State of Assam.

GUWAHATI: On the occasion of World Cancer day on February 4, the Assam Cancer Care Foundation (ACCF) has announced a free of cost, one-month long awareness and cancer detection initiative across the State of Assam.
The initiative will screen people for oral, breast and cervical cancers at the community level, and Swasth Assam Kiosks managed and run by ACCF.

The Hindu FIC and Omega Hospitals, Health City, Visakhapatnam, are jointly organising a ‘Cancer Awareness talk and Screening’ for the benefit of the teachers and students of APSWR Jr. College, Meghadripeta on the occasion of World Cancer Day on Thursday.
The World Cancer Day, being observed annually on February 4 since 2000, is an initiative of the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC). It is a campaign built to resonate, inspire change and mobilise action. The theme for this year’s Cancer Day is ‘I am and I will – Together all our actions matter’.

Greater Manchester residents, NHS, care and cancer support organisations, charities and businesses are invited to join free online fitness sessions for people of all abilities on World Cancer Day this Thursday, February 4.
The sessions are being led by exercise specialists who deliver fitness, nutrition and wellbeing programmes to help cancer patients prepare for and recover from major surgery.

February 4th is World Cancer Day. February 4, also happens to mark the start of my second year as Director of the National Cancer Institute (NCI) Center for Global Health (CGH). So, it seems like a good day to pause and reflect. Thus far, I’ve had an amazing first year acclimating to a wonderful new organization and learning its culture. I often liken this experience to when my family and I first moved to Tanzania and Malawi many years ago. Being a native English speaker has helped my assimilation at NCI somewhat, though I have had to learn a new language with respect to United States government policies and acronyms.
