FCA Annual Day Of Champions To Be Held May 16 Wednesday, May 12, 2021
Chattanooga FCA to Host Annual Day of Champions Sunday, May 16 The Greater Chattanooga Fellowship of Christian Athletes will host its annual Day of Champions event Sunday, May 16 at 3 PM at Ridgedale Baptist Church. At this event, the ministry will announce several award winners, most notably the 2021 FCA Christian Athlete of the Year.
Since 1965, the local FCA chapter has chosen a senior athlete nominated by their local school’s FCA sponsor for this award based on their character, leadership, and involvement with FCA. The winner will receive a college scholarship from the Gerald Sinkfield Memorial Scholarship Fund. Mr. Sinkfield was a prominent high school and college athlete who loved the FCA ministry and served on the Chattanooga FCA board for many years.

The Rev. Dr. David Latimore
The Rev. Dr. David Latimore has been appointed to serve as the first full-time director of Princeton Theological Seminary’s Betsey Stockton Center for Black Church Studies.
Seminary officials said the new full-time position and the renaming of the center are the seminary’s latest acts of repentance for the school’s ties to slavery. Latimore will be responsible for enhancing programming to support theological research and engagement on the legacy of enslavement and enriching the experiences of seminarians.
“I consider this an extraordinary opportunity to utilize the full span of my academic training and research interests, along with my ecclesial and professional experiences, in Princeton Seminary’s vibrant academic community and campus life,” Latimore said of his new job, which begins June 1.

The 6-foot tall steel silhouette that marks the first bus boycott in the nation stands outside the Old State Capitol building in Baton Rouge. (CNN) Courage over oppression is the message the Louisiana Office of Tourism is pressing into with the installation of historical markers memorializing significant locations that were crucial to the Civil Rights Movement around the state.
Similar to the US project of the same name, the Louisiana Civil Rights Trail already has the first three markers in place.
