The seventh phase of voting for District Development Council (DDC) elections concluded peacefully across the Union Territory of Jammu Kashmir. Despite cold weather conditions and sub-zero temperatures, people came out in huge numbers to cast their votes.
A record 3.93 lakh electors out of the total 6.87 lakh cast their vote which turned out to be 57.22 per cent. The highest number of polling (71.93%) was witnessed in the Jammu division with Poonch recording 80.12 per cent voter turn out - highest in the region.
