Panaji (Goa) [India], July 24 (ANI): Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Friday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had called him to enquire about the prevailing flood situation in Goa due to incessant rains and assured him of the Centre s full support and assistance to the State.
Sawant further said that he spoke to Union Home Minister Amit Shah and briefed him about the widespread damage caused in the State due to incessant rains.
Informing about the above developments, Sawant in a tweet said, Hon ble PM Shri Narendra Modi called to inquire about the safety and well-being of the people in the prevailing flooding situation in Goa due to incessant rains. The PM has assured full support and assistance to the State. @PMOIndia

New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will chair a meeting with the Chief Ministers of eight Northeastern states today.
Shah will be chairing a closed-door meeting with the CMs, Chief Secretaries and police chiefs of Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim and is likely to discuss the interstate boundary issues.

Shillong: The first Chief Minister-level meeting to resolve inter-state border troubles between Assam and Meghalaya was held here on Friday with both sides deciding to remove the disputes in the 12 bordering locations in a phased manner.
After the maiden meeting with his Meghalaya counterpart Conrad K. Sangma, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the next CM-level meeting would be held in Guwahati on August 6, and if necessary, both of them would visit all the 12 disputed sites.
