Union External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Saturday (February 6) said that the toolkit for farmers’ protest which was shared by Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg on Twitter revealed a lot and the international celebrities who commented on the farmers protests have spoken on matters on which they obviously didn`t know very much .
“I think it has revealed a lot. We have to wait and see what comes out,” Jaishankar said while speaking to ANI.

Union External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Saturday said that the “toolkit” tweeted by Swedish climate change campaigner Greta Thunberg in her posts expressing support for the farmers’ protests have “revealed a lot”, ANI reported.
He also defended the foreign ministry’s official statement countering tweets on the matter by Thunberg, pop singer Rihanna and other international personalities.
“We have to wait and see what else comes out,” Jaishankar said. “There was a reason why the foreign ministry reacted to statements which some celebrities gave out on matters on which they obviously didn’t know very much.”

New Delhi [India], January 28 (ANI): India and Bangladesh will hold the next round of Foreign Office Consultations (FOC) in New Delhi on Friday.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs release, the FOC will review the bilateral relations, including cooperation in the wake of COVID-19, border management and security, trade and investment, connectivity, energy, water resources, development partnership and regional and multilateral issues.
The Indian side will be led by Harsh Vardhan Shringla, Foreign Secretary and the Bangladesh side will be led by Ambassador Masud Bin Momen, Foreign Secretary of Bangladesh.
Three significant aspects of Union External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar’s recent visit to Sri Lanka need to be highlighted. First, the timely medical assistance to tackle the problems posed by Covid-19; second, New Delhi’s hope that Sri Lanka “in its interest” should fulfil the aspirations of the Tamil community for equality and dignity in a united Lanka; and third, finding a durable solution to the travails of fishermen in the Palk Bay. My focus is on the third subject, which has eluded a solution for the past several decades.
The fisheries issue, according to Jaishankar, was discussed in the earlier Joint Working Group in an “open and candid manner”. He also had a meeting with the Sri Lankan Minister for Fisheries Douglas Devananda. The outcome of the meeting is not known. The two countries are at present engaged in a “fire-fighting exercise”.
