The historic Capitol Theatre in downtown Windsor was centre stage in a provincewide celebration of Ontario and front-line health-care workers on New Year’s Eve.
“So many of these big specials gravitate towards major cities like Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal,” said director and co-producer Barry Avrich. “We really wanted to find a wonderful place in Ontario to give people a look at a different place they hadn’t seen.”

Called From Ontario With Love: A Celebration of Hope, the 90-minute variety show on TVO was taped in half a dozen cities but featured Windsor, with the only live broadcast from the Capitol Theatre which turned 100 the day before. TRENTON – Today, 40 leaders from across the state expressed their support for the New Jersey Economic Recovery Act of 2020, which will be voted on in the Legislature on Monday. Today’s announcement builds upon 34 New Jersey leaders issuing support for the package yesterday, bringing the total to 77 supporters, including the Governor, Senate President, and Speaker:

Two London, Ont.-area construction workers are being remembered at funeral services being held at the same chapel in Port Burwell, Ont. this week.
John Martens, 21, of Langton, Ont. and Henry Harder, 26, of Tillsonburg, Ont. died as a result of injuries suffered when a four-storey building under construction on Teeple Terrace off Wonderland Road in London collapsed close to noon on Friday, Dec. 11.
