Dundalk Institute outline vision to achieve TU status

Dundalk Institute outline vision to achieve TU status Reporter:   ); Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT) has published a new vision statement outlining their clear ambition and strategic intent to achieve Technological University (TU) status by 2023. The statement was shared with all staff at a consultative briefing last Friday and has been ratified by the DkIT Governing Body. It promotes a unified agreed approach in delivering on the strategic goal and its unequivocal commitment to achieving TU designation by becoming a campus of a multi-campus Regional TU. The statement provides an overarching vision for all stakeholders as the institute embarks on this new evolutionary period, accoding to the institution.

Hill Street Views: Dundalk IT at a worrying crossroads

Hill Street Views: Dundalk IT at a worrying crossroads Opinion, views and commentary from former Democrat editor David Lynch Reporter:   ); These are certainly strange times up at DkIT; and not exclusively because of the Covid-19 pandemic either. The Dublin Road-based institute is slowly, but surely becoming an outlier among its peers. By next year several other ITs around the country are expected to have linked up and formed Technological Universities (or TUs) – these particular new bodies will likely be in the mid-west, north-west and south-east. You’ll notice from that list a lack of a ‘north-east’ inclusion. DkIT has, for reasons not entirely fully understandable, decided to go it alone and not forge ahead with joining up with other ITs at present to form a TU.

The palatable lies being peddled by government on the Public Universities Bill

The palatable lies being peddled by government on the Public Universities Bill I finished watching “Good Evening Ghana”, where I heard the Minister for Education say that Government is still working to pass the PUB. Given that the entire interview he granted on the PUB was full of misinformation and disinformation, it is essential for me to directly quote him. The following Represent his very words: Paul Adom Otchere: “So when will the Bill be passed?”. Minister for Education: “Parliament would rise. I hope we can do it before Parliament rises.” Paul Adom Otchere: “On the 6th of January?” Minister for Education: “Yes.”

Prof Atuguba objects Napo s misinformation and disinformation on Public Universities Bill

Prof Atuguba objects Napo’s ‘misinformation and disinformation’ on Public Universities Bill Associate Professor and Dean of School of Law at the University of Ghana, Professor Raymond Atuguba, has described as ‘misinformation and disinformation’ assertions by the Minister of Education, Dr Mattew Opoku Prempeh in a recent media interview on the controversial Public Universities Bill (PUB). The law professor has been very critical of the infamous bill which has now been suspended after it had been read for the second time on the floor of parliament. In his critique, he described the bill as being ‘glaringly and patently unconstitutional’ and called on colleague members of University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) to find ways of stopping it before it is passed.
