(WCSC) - Revised plans for a new apartment complex in West Ashley slightly reduce the number of new homes that would come to the area. The Founders Yard complex will be just off the corner of Glenn McConnell Parkway and William E. Murray Boulevard, which is adjacent to West Ashley High School. Plans include four buildings, all four stories high, across approximately 13 acres of land.

(WCSC) - Charleston leaders are reviewing plans for a new sidewalk construction and bike lane improvement project proposed to bring better accessibility to pedestrians along Folly Road on James Island. The Charleston County Transportation Division is planning to create a continuous pedestrian network along Folly Road from the Ellis Creek Bridge to Wilton Street, which is across from Walmart. Plans include connecting the existing Ellis Creek Bridge sidewalk to Wilton Street.

(WCSC) - The Citadel’s historic Capers Hall will soon be demolished and re-built. Officials say this will be the first time an academic building is replaced at the college in 40 years. A little over a year ago, the Charleston’s Board of Architectural Review denied the demolition. Citadel Vice President of Communications and Marketing Colonel John Dorrian says they have since discussed the need for the new building with the city and it was approved.
