SHINE Medical Technologies breaks ground on another facility on Janesville’s far south side.
The radioisotope producer partnered with a development company to start construction Wednesday on a new plant to produce Lutetium-177, an isotope used to treat difficult cancers.
Communications Director Rod Hise told The Stan Milam Show on WCLO that the element is in high demand for clinical trials, and it has the potential to save countless lives in the future.
The over 50,000 square foot facility will also include a new headquarters for the company on its campus across from the Southern Wisconsin Regional Airport on Highway 51.
