New Delhi: The political dynamics in Maharashtra posed an unexpected surprise for the Supreme Court on Thursday, as it wondered how the Congress despite being in the ruling coalition in Maharashtra could enjoy the post of leader of the opposition (LoP) in the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM).
A bench headed by Chief Justice S. A. Bobde queried, could the Congress hold the position of LoP and also be a part of the ruling coalition in Maharashtra? Senior advocate Mukul Rohatgi, representing BJP Councillor Prabhakar Tukaram Shinde, contended that this is completely fatal to democracy. How can you have this? Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) has given approval to the Cambridge International Board to conduct board exams.

Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) on Tuesday allowed schools to conduct board examinations for classes 10 and 12. Cambridge International Board will be the first one to conduct board exams on January 23, Students will go to school to appear for a pen-paper test. Last year in November, re-examinations for SSC and HSC.
A circular was issued after Cambridge International Board requested the BMC. Cambridge International Board conducts the exams on January 23. There are approximately 45 Cambridge affiliated schools in Mumbai.
