The suspension of UK-India flight officially starts today (December 23).
India-bound transit passengers from the UK, wishing to fly via the UAE, will not be allowed to enter India,
Khaleej Times has learnt.
Starting today until December 31, all passengers coming from or transiting through the UK will not be permitted to enter India, amid fears of the new Covid-19 strain that shut down London.
UAE carriers Etihad Airways and Emirates Airlines have also informed its transit passengers that they cannot fly to India via the UAE, according to an updated list of travel protocols.

All passengers must undergo 7 days of institutional quarantine and 7 days home quarantine.
A mandatory seven-day institutional quarantine, which is being applied with immediate effect, has been enforced for passengers from the UAE travelling to Maharashtra, India,
Khaleej Times has learnt.
The institutional quarantine will be followed by home quarantine for another seven days, Sukishini Paghare, deputy collector (land acquisition department), Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) told
Khaleej Times.
An official with the Consulate General of India in Dubai confirmed the policy decision by the Maharashtra government.
The issue received bids for 2.56 crore shares as against 66.66 lakh shares on offer.The initial public offer (IPO) of Antony Waste Handling Cell received bids for 2.56 crore shares as against 66.66 lakh shares on offer as on Tuesday (22 December 2020), according to the National Stock Exchange (NSE) data. The issue was subscribed 3.85 times.
The issue opened for subscription yesterday (21 December 2020) and it will close on Wednesday (23 December 2020). The price band for the IPO is set at Rs 313-315 per share. An investor can bid for a minimum of 47 equity shares and in multiples thereof.
The issue comprises of a fresh issue worth Rs 85 crore and an offer for sale (OFS) of 68,24,933 equity shares by existing shareholders.

The procedures follow the emergence of a new Covid-19 strain detected in the UK.
The Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport has announced a fresh set of guidelines for all incoming/outgoing international passengers against the backdrop of the new Covid-19 virus strain detected in the UK, it was announced on Tuesday.
The Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai later provided the following exemptions in a release.
