China’s top streaming platforms censored around six minutes of material from HBO Max’s “Friends: The Reunion” special on the day of its debut Thursday, deleting footage of artists like BTS previously deemed to have “insulted” China, gay fans, references to pee and a shot of Matt LeBlanc in his underwear, among other moments.
“Friends” has amassed a huge, devoted following in China over the years, and thousands of fans had expressed their excitement for the special across all local social media platforms ahead of its release.

The China International MICE Conference (CIMICEC) attracted 500 domestic and international industry leaders to the eastern city of Nanjing, 15 April.
The conference was hosted at the Nanjing International Expo Convention Center and discussion centred on the theme of ‘MICE makes for better cities’, both in an economic and social sense.
The conference opening ceremony was attended by Jin Weidong, president of Nanjing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism; Wu Yang, deputy director of Jianye District of Nanjing; Xia Jun, vice-president of Nanjing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism.

BEIJING, May 5 (Xinhua) Beijing has seen a robust recovery in tourism as it received more than 8.4 million tourists during the five-day May Day holiday that ended Wednesday, local authorities said. The figure marks an 81.9-percent surge over the same period last year and is 98.4 percent of the pre-pandemic level in 2019, according to the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism. The Chinese capital s tourism sector raked in around 9.3 billion yuan (about 1.44 billion U.S. dollars) during the holiday, an increase of 120 percent year on year and approximately 86 percent of the figure in 2019, the bureau said.
