How Drop the Dead Donkey broke the news – and its cast
The comedy almost known as Dead Belgians Don’t Count was a unique mix of office humour and topical jokes. But staying current came at a cost

When Drop the Dead Donkey became a comedy hit for Channel 4, some hacks claimed the title as a well-worn journalistic phrase. It was in fact made up by creators and writers Andy Hamilton and Guy Jenkin, inspired by a gloriously cynical snippet overheard in the BBC newsroom.
Shadowing the newsroom as research for their new script, they observed the editorial team putting together the evening bulletin – an increasingly furious process of shifting news items around, and bumping them up and down the running order.
Why My Wife Momentarily Thought I Was Having an Affair
This story is going to sound ridiculous, but I promise you it is 100% true. Over this past weekend, my wife was momentarily (for maybe 8 seconds or so) convinced that I was having an affair with another woman, and that I had brought that woman into our home.
Anyone who knows me and Keri, knows that we re not jealous or insecure about our relationship- like at all. Our marriage is based on love, respect and TRUST. If you don t have those three things, what do you really have?
Also, if you ve been listening to the show recently, you know that I have started a daily workout routine with the Kennebec Valley YMCA. This is important to know because this all happened about 15 minutes after getting back from the gym on Saturday.

The line between tragedy and comedy is often very thin indeed and so it is with Miss Shepherd, the somewhat deluded, sad character who is the Lady in the Van.
Our play reading group had a really hilarious evening reading Alan Bennett s play, based on the real story of the elderly lady who lived in a van in his street, eventually driving it into his front garden where she remained for 15 years.
