Pennsylvania Will Lift Mask Mandate By June 28th
The state of Pennsylvania will lift the statewide mask mandate by June 28, but officials say it could be lifted sooner if 70% of the state s adults receive their second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
The state s Acting Health Secretary Alison Beam says that nearly 53% of Pennsylvania s adult population have received at least one dose of the vaccine.
“It will be lifted June 28. We want it to be something to motivate folks to go get vaccinated,” Beam said when highlight that the mask mandate can be lifted earlier if the state hits the 70% vaccination mark.

As restrictions on daily life during the pandemic are lifted, fewer people wear masks, and mass vaccination clinics scale back due to decreased demand, the same communities in Pennsylvania disproportionately harmed by the coronavirus are still more at risk.
About 73% of people who have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine in the state outside of Philadelphia are white, while 4% are Black and 4% are Hispanic.
Delawareans who are fully vaccinated have significant protection against this virus and can feel comfortable getting back to the things they loved to do before this pandemic, Carney said. For our neighbors who aren’t vaccinated, the message is clear. The COVID-19 vaccine is the best protection we have against the virus. Getting vaccinated is the best way to protect you and those you love. In the meantime, Delawareans who are unvaccinated, including children, should continue to wear masks in public places.
As of Thursday, May 13, Delaware providers had administered 830,781 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. More than 56 percent of Delawareans 16 and older have received at least one shot.
