Greg Abbott s most recent executive orders, ongoing COVID-19 public health recommendations and how the changes will impact business.  During the meeting, city leaders discussed an executive order allowing business owners to make the call on whether customers are required to wear masks in their establishment. We can rebuild our economy, while at the same time keep our community safe, Rio Grande City Mayor Joel Villareal said. These two concepts are not mutually exclusive.

Nearly 24,000 doses of J&J s vaccine arrived in Houston, Dallas and Arlington on Tuesday and more than 200,000 doses are scheduled to be allocated throughout Texas next week. Starr County Health Authority Dr. Antonio Falco said the county has collected and signed the necessary paperwork to receive the latest COVID-19 vaccine. But getting vaccines to Starr County took some time at first.

Vaccinations underway in Starr County as long awaited shipment of COVID-19 vaccines arrive 1 month 2 weeks 1 day ago Wednesday, February 03 2021 Feb 3, 2021 February 03, 2021 8:44 PM February 03, 2021 in News - Local Share: Starr County health officials began administering the latest shipment of COVID-19 vaccines on Wednesday. The long-awaited shipment of 1,300 doses of Moderna s vaccine arrived on Tuesday.  This is an excellent sign that our citizens are going to have access to the vaccines, Starr County Health Authority Dr. Antonio Falcon said. Hopefully this will be the beginning of a trend. The doses were split among three medical facilities in the county. Starr County Memorial Hospital received 1,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, Nuestra Clinica Del Valle received 100 and Roma Family Health Clinic 200.
