BILLINGS - The number of COVID-19 deaths among Yellowstone County residents has risen to eight since July 1, RiverStone Health reports. The most recent death brings the pandemic toll to 283 county residents lost since April 2020, with 72 deaths occurring since Jan. 1, 2021.
A man in his 80s died Saturday, July 17, at a Billings hospital. He had been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, and had underlying health conditions.
The death of this fully vaccinated neighbor is a tragic reminder that the COVID-19 vaccines arenât 100% effective for all people. BILLINGS - RiverStone Health reports that a sixth Yellowstone County resident has died of COVID-19 illness this month, bringing the countyâs pandemic death toll to 275 since April 2020.
A man in his 80s died Friday, June 25, at a Billings hospital. He had been vaccinated against the pandemic virus and had underlying health conditions.
âI offer my deepest sympathy to the loved ones of this Yellowstone County man who died last week of COVID-19 related illness,â said John Felton, Yellowstone County health officer, and president and CEO of RiverStone Health. âVaccination greatly reduces the risk of COVID-19 infection, but the risk isnât zero â especially when it comes to our sickest, most vulnerable friends and neighbors â while the pandemic virus continues to circulate in our community.â
