2021 ACM Awards: Everything You Need to Know
If it seems like just yesterday the 2020 ACM Awards took place, you re not too far off: The annual awards show last occurred in September, after being postponed from its usual April date as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In 2021, however, the show is slowly adjusting back to its usual schedule, keeping the more traditional ACMs run date of mid-April. And while the event will still be a little different than fans are used to due to continuing social distancing regulations, last year s event proved that even amidst a pandemic, the ACMs are still sure to deliver an evening full of action-packed excitement. It s not billed as Country Music s Party of the Year for nothing!

That s all going to change at Sunday night s ACM Awards, where Carly and Lee are performing I Hope You re Happy Now, which also won Music Event of the Year ahead of the show.

Lee Brice has one of the strongest voices in country music, but that doesn t mean that he doesn t struggle to sing I Hope You re Happy Now alongside Carly Pearce.
As Lee and Carly prep for their upcoming performance on the
ACM Awards stage, Lee dropped in with
Cody Alan to reveal why this song is hard to perform. Well, two things, states Lee. It s maybe the most rangy song for a guy to get up there and really do it the way it s supposed to be done. Then, honestly, it s a true duet, shares the One Of Them Girls singer. So, you are going from like, I am this person, and I am that person, and I am singing background for that person.

Lee Brice were surprised with their trophies for Music Event of the Year, thanks to their duet, âI Hope Youâre Happy Now.â
The pair got the big news during what they thought was a pre-ACMs interview, which quickly became a giddy celebration when they were handed their trophies.
âI mean, just to think about how hard I and my team fought to get this song right, and how much your voice lent exactly what I always wanted for it.â Carly told Lee, adding, âWow! I canât believe it.â
âThank you so much for letting me be a part of this,â Lee added. âThank yâall so much for letting us be in this category, and now, wow!â
