It makes them lose their money. How will they make money if they don’t resist change?” Khan said in a speech after he broke ground on apartments for low-income groups here. “This way, a whole [vicious] system is developed in society.” Khan was referring to the “resistance the government faced from all quarters” in its efforts to introduce automation, which the Prime Minister believes would eliminate corruption.

However, he assured that the country was heading in the right direction. Addressing the foundation-laying ceremony of the LDA City Naya Pakistan Housing Project here, he said the country was faced with a defining moment, though the ‘political mafias’ were trying to maintain the status quo. He called upon the country to transform itself if it was to meet the challenges of the 21st Century. He said the status quo did not want Pakistan to change for the better. He said that over the years, the country adopted a system where illegal gratification to get something accomplished had become a norm.

Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar, in a statement on Thursday said the Punjab government has achieved an important milestone by fulfilling yet another promise made with the people. The government will fulfill its commitment by constructing more than 35 thousand apartments over an area of 8500 kanal, he added. Giving the details, the CM said the construction of 4000 apartments is going to be started, in the first phase, and the lower-scale employees will be given a soft loan facility along with a subsidy from the federal government.
