Kohima Medical College expected to initiate Academic Year from 2022-23 The State Government is planning to apply for starting the Kohima Medical College from the academic year 2022-23 to the National Medical Commission.   |  20 Feb 2021 1:11 PM GMT Nagaland: After several impediments, Nagaland s first Medical College is set to initiate its first academic year from 2022-23, informed Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on February 18. The CM informed this during the State Budget Session 2021-22 at the 7th session of the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly. The State Government is planning to apply for starting the Kohima Medical College from the academic year 2022-23 to the National Medical Commission, added Rio who also holds the finance portfolio.

As landslides have affected the Nagaland Legislative Assembly Complex, a major rock bolting exercise is to be carried out by the Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA), Home Department as a mitigative measure from 17th February 2021 with heavy machineries to be placed on the Thizama road below the Nagaland Legislative Assembly Complex.
