NACOGDOCHES, Texas (KTRE) - A 44-year-old Nacogdoches man was arrested Thursday afternoon for two counts of online solicitation of a minor after a joint operation by the Nacogdoches County Sheriffâs Office, Nacogdoches Police Department and the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Nacogdoches County Sheriff Jason Bridges said an investigator with the Nacogdoches County Sheriffâs Office that is assigned to sexual assault investigations and has specialized training with internet crimes against children conducted the investigation that led to the arrest.

According to a release from the Nacogdoches County Sheriff s Office (NCSO), a 44-year-old Nacogdoches man was arrested Thursday afternoon for two counts of online solicitation of a minor after a joint operation by the Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s Office, Nacogdoches Police Department and the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Two Men Arrested After High Speed Chase in Nacogdoches County
According to a release from the Nacogdoches County Sheriff s Department, two men were arrested Thursday afternoon after leading law enforcement officials on a high speed chase that started in the city of Nacogdoches.
A deputy with the Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop a small black pickup truck for a traffic violation at Loop 224 and University Drive. The vehicle refused to stop and continued down University to E. Austin Street. Many law enforcement agencies joined the pursuit in an attempt to stop the vehicle. The Nacogdoches Police Department blocked all traffic at intersections to help keep the public safe.

According to the Nacogdoches County Sheriff s Office, a deputy attempted to stop a black pickup truck for a traffic violation at the Loop and University Drive.
The vehicle refused to stop and continued down University Drive to E. Austin Street.
During the pursuit, attempts were made to stop the vehicle and spike strips were deployed. However, the suspect was able to avoid the spike strips.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas (KTRE) - Ahead of the inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris on Wednesday, the FBI is warning law enforcement across the country to heighten security as a precaution.
“So far there is no activity that’s noted by the local FBI agents that I’ve spoken with as early as this morning,” said Acting Chief Scott Weems of the Nacogdoches Police Department.
Yet, out of precaution, increased patrol has been added at courthouses, downtowns and undisclosed areas.
