Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum announced on Sunday the launch of the 100 Million Meals initiative, which seeks to provide food support to needy families in more than 20 countries in the Arab region, Africa and Asia during the holy month of Ramadan.
The initiative is part of a collective effort in the UAE to provide food security for the vulnerable and low-income groups. Businessmen, institutions, companies and all segments of society will contribute to the initiative to cement the human values of Ramadan. The initiative will cover targeted countries in cooperation with the regional food banks and the countries’ relevant institutions.
