Young great white sharks ‘use training grounds to hone hunting skills’

Juvenile great white sharks use certain areas of the sea as “training grounds” where they can fine-tune their hunting skills and prepare for adulthood without facing competition from larger creatures, research suggests.
The study, published in the journal Environmental Biology of Fishes, is based on more than 3,000 shark sightings off the coast of Mossel Bay in South Africa.
The researchers said the bay offers a sheltered environment for the juvenile sharks and is home to different types of prey, in the form of fish and rays as well as seals and small whales.

Nat Openshaw, from Tring, Hertfordshire, jumped at the chance to teach his uni pal Katy Hughes a lesson that she shouldn t leave her bedroom door unlocked when she travelled home from Nottingham to visit family in Sandbach, Cheshire, last month.
The scheming 21-year-old, who lives in the flat above, spent £20 and more than five hours decorating everything from her toilet to every wall in 20 18metre-long rolls of tin foil.

DONKEYS have returned to Blackpool beach for the first time since lockdown as the UK rode high with another triple vaccine boost.
In the latest sign a great British summer is just around the corner, the seaside favourites are back entertaining families on the seaside.

Owner Mark Ineson, 43, said: “The donkeys, like me, are champing at the bit to go and meet and entertain our customers again after a terrible 14 months.
“This week we finally returned to Blackpool beach and last Saturday it felt great for all of us to be working again.
