LANSING, Mich â Hundreds of people will gather at the state capitol Wednesday in an effort to urge lawmakers to take action on bills that would address certain upcoming changes to Michigan s auto no-fault law.
Survivors of catastrophic auto injuries, their families, friends, and the people who own and work at medical care providers that say they won t be able to survive the slash in reimbursement for certain post-acute medical care, have been planning the rally in front of the capitol for several weeks now.

WASHINGTON: The Senate on Tuesday passed a massive bill that doubles the Defense Department’s research and innovation enterprise.
The United States Innovation and Competition Act, formerly called the Endless Frontiers Act, passed the Senate 68-32 and appears likely to become law. The bill now goes to the House. President Biden has said he supports the bill.
Sen. Ben Sasse introduced the amendment to increase DARPA’s annual budget by $3.5 billion, which will bring the total authorized funding to $7 billion over the next five years, according to a spokesperson in the senator’s office.

Women: From Her to Here offers pieces from a diverse array of artists from across various sexual and gender identities. Artists hail from the Bay Area, Taiwan, Honk Kong, China and elsewhere.

The border between the US and Canada has been closed since shortly after the pandemic started in March of 2020, It is slated to stay closed until June 21, but the pressure is on to reopen the border as the COVID-19 situation improves because of vaccinations. Saskatchewan’s tourism minister Jeremy Harrison says it is time to get fully vaccinated people across the border, and is somewhat overdue.
