Non-executive Chairman of Infosys and Aadhaar architect Nandan Nilekani said that India is at the cusp of some major AI (artificial intelligence) innovation. Nilekani was talking at the fireside chat organised to celebrate the one-year anniversary of INDIAai the national AI portal set up Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), National E-Governance Division, and Nasscom. Nilekani said that the by-product of government s focus on setting up transaction systems over the past few years has been huge data sets across systems. The time is right to apply AI across the board to India s most challenging issues across areas like healthcare and education. Both the business side and the government side are well placed to apply AI in a unique way, said Nilekani.
PORTLAND â Some Native American tribes in the Pacific Northwest are criticizing the suggestion they have competing opinions on how best to save endangered salmon runs, saying tribes are united in pursuing the removal of four hydroelectric dams on the Snake River in order to preserve the iconic fish.
A dozen tribes issued a joint press release on Wednesday, May 26, rejecting the notion that tribes based near Puget Sound might have differing goals than inland tribes.
âAny efforts to divide the indigenous peoples of this region by suggesting that the Puget Sound Tribes donât have the same interests as the Northwest Inland Tribes have been soundly rejected by tribal leaders,â Nez Perce Tribe Chairman Samuel Penney said in the release. âWe are all salmon people.â

The SJHL’s Melville Millionaires held their 2021 annual general meeting last night (Thurs), via Zoom.
At the meeting, Tammy Stevenson was acclaimed as President of the organization.
“My first year as President was in the middle of a pandemic, so that was pretty different but we were able to work through that difference situation as a group and now I’m excited for the fresh season here in the Fall.”
Four others will remain on the board with Renee Waldbauer & Steven Sutton remaining as 1st and 2nd Vice-Presidents’ respectively, Dawn Melnychuk staying on as Governor, and Tara Badduke as Secretary.
