Man shot dead allegedly by BSF in Lalmonirhat Star Online Report Star Online Report
A man was shot dead along the Jhalangi border in Lalmonirhat s Patgram upazila allegedly by members of India s Border Security Force (BSF).
The deceased was identified as Abul Kalam Azad (29), Naik Subedar Jalal Sardar, commander of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) 61-Jhalangi battalion said.
The incident took place around 5:00am today when a group of six to seven people were smuggling cattle from India, the BGB official said.
Azad died on the way to Rangpur Medical College Hospital. A protest letter was sent to BSF over the incident, Jalal said.
