DA Morrissey awards grant for prom, graduation safety COURTESY OF THE NORFOLK DISTRICT ATTORNEY S OFFICE Walpole was recently awarded $500 as part of Norfolk District Attorney Michael W. Morrissey’s annual grant program to support safe, substance free prom and graduation events. “Proms and graduations are going to look very different this year, but communities are still working to provide safe options for around these events,” Morrissey said. The grant, which is drawn from funds forfeited in criminal prosecutions and not tax dollars, can be used to defray the cost of alcohol-free events after prom or graduation, or safe transportation to prom.

Norfolk County DA hosts online forum on anti-Asian racism Wicked Local Editor s Note: The following was submitted by the Norfolk Council District Attorney s office.  The Anti-Asian Racism Forum, focused on Needham, Brookline, Dover, Wellesley and Quincy in late March, was recorded and is now posted on the Norfolk District Attorney’s FaceBook and YouTube pages. “We had a very strong turnout, with Rep. Alice Hanlon Peisch, who represents Wellesley,  and Denise Garlick, who represents Needham and Dover,  joining other officials and more than 160 residents on the webinar – and hundreds of others watching on FaceBook Live,” said Norfolk District Attorney Michael W. Morrissey, who organized and hosted the event with Quincy Rep. Tackey Chan and Philip Chong, the CEO of Quincy Asian Resources Inc.
