Northampton County’s number of inmates with COVID-19 triples in 2 weeks Updated Dec 15, 2020; Northampton County Prison officials on Tuesday reported the cumulative number of inmates who have tested positive for COVID-19 has tripled in two weeks. The total number of inmates testing positive since March reached 86 as of Tuesday, up 207% from 28 on Dec. 1. The number of inmates quarantining as of Tuesday was 31, or 5.8% of the total prison population of 537 inmates, the Northampton County Department of Corrections reported. On the staff side, a cumulative 35 prison employees have tested positive for the coronavirus illness since March, up 40% from 25 on Dec. 1. Of those, six were still quarantining with 29 having finished their quarantine period.

EASTON, Pa. | An Easton man already wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant is facing additional charges after allegedly shoving and injuring a police officer. Bryan McNally faces assault and related charges following the incident earlier this week in the 100 block of Northampton Street in Easton. District Judge Robert Weber arraigned the 35-year-old on Wednesday, setting bail at $200,000. Easton police were dispatched about 10:45 a.m. Monday to the Cigarette Outlet at 170 Northampton St., where McNally had been spotted. The criminal complaint indicates an outstanding warrant for his arrest but does not specify the charges. Online court records show a pending drug paraphernalia case in Northampton County Court.
