Norwich City Football Club has condemned racist abuse received by the player who netted an equaliser for Queens Park Rangers against the Canaries.
Bright Osayi-Samuel scored QPR s equaliser from the penalty spot, cancelling out Teemu Pukki s earlier spot kick for City.
But after the match the 22-year-old midfielder posted on his Instagram account a screenshot of the abuse he had received and described it as disgusting and painful to receive messages like this .
The message also included threats to his family.
An investigation is underway to identify who was responsible for the post.

A collaboration to help spread joy and hope to disadvantaged children has culminated in the delivery of 1,245 gifts to school children.
Norwich City Football Club joined forces with SOUL Church and Zatu Games through The Wonder Tree campaign and saw the team visit nine schools across Norwich to give out the gifts in time for the Christmas holidays.
Stuart Webber, sporting director of Norwich City, said: We’re delighted to be part of The Wonder Tree campaign. This year has been a challenging one for everyone, so this special initiative has really helped make a difference to those families within our community who have been impacted due to the pandemic.

Norwich City fans during the club s 2-1 victory over Nottingham Forest

A Norwich City fan was kicked out of Carrow Road during the club s clash with Nottingham Forest after allegedly booing as players took the knee ahead of kick-off.
The supporter, one of only 2,000 allowed inside the ground, was escorted out by stewards minutes into the Championship clash.
Footballers across all of England s major leagues have been taking a knee before games since elite sport resumed following lockdown in a bid to oppose racism and show support for the Black Lives Matter movement following the death of George Floyd in America.
