At the peak of the virus s first wave in April the hospital was treating 87 people: in the middle of January it was more than 350.
Prof Denton said the message of hands, face, space was so much more important in this wave than in wave one due to more rapid transmission of the virus.

She said; The people we are admitting, the numbers that are very sick who need critical care, oxygen, ventilation, has not declined. Of course the Norfolk and Norwich is a surge centre. We support other hospitals and it s a similar pattern elsewhere: the number of people sick enough needing admissions is slowing down.
Former Diss Express editor Kay Hunter dies after contracting coronavirus

Tributes have been paid to former Diss Express editor Kay Hunter, who died last week after being diagnosed with Covid-19.
Mrs Hunter was admitted to Norwich University Hospital on New Yearâs Eve after a fall at home. After being diagnosed with the virus, she died last Wednesday. She was 92.
She leaves a lasting and tangible legacy in Diss, both with her work at the newspaper and various community groups.

Rian Ducker, from Wymondham, was helped by Great Ormond Street and the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital after he was born with a mix of complex heart problems.

The daughter of caring man who died in hospital from coronavirus has spoken of the moment a nurse looked heartbroken as she turned off the machine keeping him alive.
Father-of-seven Edward Folkard, 65, died after spending 11 days battling the virus at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital in January.
One of his daughters, Sam Folkard, said: The nurse that had to turn his machine off in the end probably was about the same age as me, if not younger. She looked heartbroken as well. How could they not be? They re watching so many people die.
In 1987, the couple opened Cut Loose and became business partners, before separating later.
Ms Lewis said: “It had always been Ian’s dream to have his own salon. He entered several hairdressing competitions in the late 80s and has many certificates and trophies to add to his huge collection of boxing ones.”
After hanging up his boxing gloves, he joined a gym was soon entering and achieving success in bodybuilding competitions.
His other interests included shooting, archery, ceroc dancing, and karaoke.
