A “well-respected” minister based in north Norfolk has died at the age of 64.
The Reverend Richard Woodhouse took up ministry at North Walsham Congregational Church, based on Cromer Road, twice during his lifetime.
Before this position, he served as assistant minister at Cowper Memorial Congregational Church, Dereham, before serving as minister of the church in 1985.
He later gave oversight to Hingham Congregational Church, near Wymondham, and, in September 1993, moved to become the ministry at North Walsham where he served until 2008.
In the May of that year, he accepted a call to become the minister of Kentish Town Congregational Church, London, where he remained until 2013. But he was called once again to North Walsham and returned to serve there for a second time.

The number of patients in critical care beds in Norfolk hospitals has hit record levels for the third week in a row, despite the number of Covid patients falling.

Retired school teacher, Beatrice Bea Ewart, of Hethersett, has died at the age of 86.

A retired Norwich school teacher, described as popular with pupils and parents alike, has died aged 86.
Born in Edinburgh on July 20, 1934, Beatrice Mary Ewart, née Simpson, moved to Norwich during the 1960s where she continued to share her love of education.
Known by all as Bea, she was the daughter of grocer Arthur Simpson and his wife Joanna.
After leaving school, she completed a two-year training course at Edinburgh’s Moray House School of Education and Sport during the mid-1950s.

A Norfolk consultant has been selected for a pivotal role to help transform care for people living with diabetes in the region.
Dr Jason Cheung, clinical lead for the inpatient diabetes service at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, has been selected as a Diabetes UK clinical champion for the east of England.
As a clinical champion, Dr Cheung will join a two-year leadership development programme, supported by Diabetes UK.
Through his training, he will identify areas in need of improvement and drive vital changes to the diabetes services that people in the east of England receive.
