A court has spared a restaurant boss who hit 107mph from a driving ban - after hearing it could put his staff s jobs under threat.
Akik Choudhury, 26, of Bacton Road in North Walsham, appeared at Norwich Magistrates Court on January 7.
He pleaded guilty to driving a Mercedes at 107mph in a 70mph zone on the A11 at Besthorpe on June 30 last year.
But the magistrates spared him a driving ban after hearing that a disqualification would threaten 25 staff at the defendant s restaurant, Labone Indian Cuisine in North Walsham, with the risk of losing their jobs.

A puppy seller has denied trying to sell dogs fraudulently online but has admitted a series of other offences.
Hannah Manning, of Glamis Court, Harleston, was charged with 13 offences when she appeared at Norwich Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
Two of the charges are for fraudulently selling puppies, which she denied.
The 30-year old also indicated she would plead not guilty to three other frauds, including cancelling a loan agreement, selling a horse and selling stolen hay bales. She also denied stealing £240 worth of hay and straw bales.
However, she admitted sending threatening messsages on Facebook messenger, text and WhatsApp, making off with £20 of petrol, possessing amphetamines and advertising a drug for animals which was only available on prescription from a vets.

Charlie Lock, 28, of Low Road in Woodbridge, Suffolk, was sentenced in Norwich Magistrates Court on December 14 for coercive behaviour in an intimate relationship between July 1 and September 30 of this year in Norwich.
He had pleaded guilty on October 7.
Stacie Cossey, prosecuting, told the court Lock demanded the victim install a tracking app on her phone, isolated her from friends, threatened to harm himself if she went out and became aggressive when abusing alcohol and drugs.
